Pharco Pharmaceuticals is the parent company of the Pharco Group, founded by Dr Hassan Abbas Helmy in 1983. Today, the Group comprises eight pharmaceutical companies dedicated to the research, development, manufacturing and distribution of a wide range of medicines, food supplements and personal care products.
It is the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), with more than 8,000 employees and a portfolio of over 500 products exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.

A Story That Began 70 Years Ago
It all began in 1957 with a small pharmacy in Alexandria, Egypt, founded by Dr Hassan Abbas Helmy. Driven by a desire to make effective medicines more accessible, this pharmacy laid the foundations for what would become one of the region’s largest pharmaceutical groups.
Today, the Group is led by Dr Sherine Hassan Abbas Helmy, CEO of Pharco, who has spent more than 30 years carrying forward the vision and expertise inherited from her father, the company’s founder.
